Mike Ingold
All of our products are made by hand, one at a time, in Tampa, Florida by company owner & operator Mike Ingold. With over 25 years of wood shop experience, Mike has been building and modifying guitars, speaker cabinets, pedals, and pedal boards for himself and musicians in the local music scene since the early 2000's. From 2013 to 2023 Mike worked for The University of Tampa as a professor of Art and Design, as well as being the Wood Shop Technician for the department's fabrication studios. During his tenure at UT he continued to design, build, and modify guitars in his spare time. As of January 2023, Mike has made the leap to full-time guitar building, opening Ingold Guitars in the Seminole Heights neighborhood of Tampa.

Testimonials

Literally every time I play my ingold out I get so many folks coming up to me after the show, asking about the bass and complementing the sound/looks. This includes 100% of FOH sound people- who we all know are a tough crowd. FOH have all loved the sound of my Ingold.

Mike literally built the guitar of my dreams. They might look stunning and modern but they play like “home”. The attention to detail from the neck joint, the choice of components, and bookmatching of the body are second to none. My Milton literally feels like a warm hug in my hands.

Long story short, it is a fantastic instrument in craftmanship, playability, and sound. And it is gorgeous. The painstaking attention to detail is apparent. Fretwork is amazing. No fret sprout or deadspots. The action is set really low and there are no buzzing issues. Easy to play smooth neck. The bevels and cuts make it super comfortable sitting or standing. Balances well. This bass is versatile. The bridge pickup can give bright focused jazz tones. Great clean sustain for the harmonics (just keeps going). You can get old-school sounds from the neck pickup.
